Dear Senator Bennet,

Congratulations on your appointment to the US Senate representing the State of Colorado.

I am writing to express my view on the pending vote regarding the "Employee Free Choice Act".

I am a REALTOR and a instructor for Pueblo Community College. My teaching assignment is at Canon City High School. My program offers college level credit to high school students. The subjects I teach is related to the automotive industry.

As you can see, my line of work is usually considered union friendly. I am not a member of any labor union and I prefer not to be.
I have no problem with honest American workers joining a union if that is their choice.

My concern with the "Employee Free Choice Act" is the provision of removing the secret - private vote. It is a common practice to intimidate to persuade union membership. I have experienced this first hand. My Mother-in-Law works for a company that treats their employees fairly. The work environment is usually a friendly and professional experience. In 2007 / 2008 the union came to her place of employment and wanted to form a union. The answer from the employees was a strong "not interested". However, for months after they would constantly call the employees, make visits to their homes, and place notes on their vehicles trying to convince them to join. The scary part is the method of obtaining the personal information.

Due to the unique way her vehicle was registered, she knew exactly where the info came from but how it was obtained remains a secret. The notes on the vehicles were placed in parking lots away from work. This is obviously a tracking / intimidation tactic.

If allowed to pass, the unions will gain power that would be detrimental to the very foundation our country was founded on.

I ask that you please thoroughly read and consider the implications this bill will have on our society.

I look forward to your thoughts and sincerely hope you can help bring dignity and representation back to our Country. As you are aware we are scared with the direction we are heading. We are tired of the tone (both new and old) in Washington DC it seems like the parties care only for their parties and not the future of the United States. I am not a party follower, I chose to vote with my mind and what is best for our Country.  I ask you and every other representative we elect to do the same.

Thank you
